National Insurance Producer Registry. A not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) that runs the Producer Database (PDB) and the electronic channel producers and carriers use to send license applications, renewals and appointments to state insurance departments. The states issue the licenses.
